加拿大外长贝尼耶3日发表声明说，他对加拿大驻伊朗大使被伊朗驱逐表示“遗憾”。
贝尼耶说，伊朗这一举动是“完全没道理的”。
加拿大和伊朗在过去一段时间里一直就两国互派大使一事进行商谈，但伊朗提交的大使人选一直不能让加方接受。
贝尼耶还表示，加拿大将努力保持同伊朗的沟通渠道畅通。
