WAGE 分 HOURLY AND PIECE WORK。

For Joinery is kind of Trade certificate, so the admission requirements are a bit lower than those of diploma, in BCIT, you just need to pass the Trade english test, then you are eligible to take the course.

In my opinion, the most important thing is to find a good school, you need to spend most of your times in the shop to do some practical projects, by this way, you could learn some skills.

I do not know if there are some kind of schools like BCIT in Toronto, I hope so. Maybe it is a good idea to search on some educational websties with word”joinery” or “cabinetmaking”. Then you would better pay a visit to those schools to see if there are enough benches, power tools, etc. in BCIT 2001, the total costs including tuition and books are around $1200.

Frankly, the most important I learnt in BCIT is safety, especially for we students dealing with power tools everyday.

——————————————-

if you have money, you could buy several portable power tools, such as elec drill and some bits most oftenly used, such as roberson and philips drill bits and portable sander. otherwise, you just need to buy a tape, a couple of pencils, a goggle, an ear muffer, safety boots, that is enough. every furniture shop has most of those power machines, such as jointer, sander, planner, table saw, etc.

——————————————-
