Presented by Tom Kaufmann, Regional Sales Manager for West Coast Engineering. Tom has been in sales for over 40 years. He has taught and managed sales staff for 15 of those 40 years. Tom has sold for such large companies as Dell and General Electric. As a sales consultant for his own Sales & Marketing company, Tom has helped many small and medium companies increase their sales by, in some cases, over 25%. His expertise lies in developing new territories and expanding existing ones through various product introduction techniques to new customers. In one case, he made over $20,000 in commission for 4 hours of work selling to a new customer! Tom has been in a variety of markets such as telephones, computers, books, magazine advertising, plastics, foods, paper making, career placement, lottery, road traffic products, to name a few. Over the many years Tom has developed very successful sales training techniques that have helped his clients increase their sales. Tom will talk about his experiences in sales; and highlight why he switched from engineering to sales as a career.
