Transit union leaders, after meeting with members yesterday, are confident TTC workers will back a tentative deal the union inked(这里指签署) with the city last week.

“The vote will go good,” said Vince Casuti, president of Local 113 of the Amalgamated Transit Union, after getting feedback from members on the tentative deal at the Sheraton Parkway Hotel in Richmond Hill. The city’s 7,800 transit workers vote Wednesday on the pact.

An informal Sun poll of 53 union members leaving the meeting found 19 said yes to the deal and 10 said no. But the survey indicated close to half of the members at the meeting were still undecided.

The deal includes an 3% annual wage increase each year over three years for all transit workers.

Clerical workers are expected to oppose the deal. Several clerical workers, who did not want to be named, said the 150 members in their department would reject the deal because it does not allow them to keep their seniority(资历) if they switch departments, unlike other employees.

Janitor Gerry Capozzi, 34, said that transit drivers, who dominate the union with 5,000 members, hold the trump card(这里指王牌) and they seemed happy.
